Choosing the Right Laser Cutter

Desktop and classroom use points toward the Muse Core or Muse 3D. Small shops moving into regular production fit well on a Mira 5S or Mira 7S Redline. Shops running higher volume or larger materials are usually better served by a Mira 9S Redline, a Full Spectrum PS machine, or an AEON Nova. If you need our largest bed and top wattage, the Atlas 4’x8′ flatbed is the only machine in the lineup at that size. Our CO2 laser cutter buying guide walks through the decision in more depth, or you can talk to our team directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much wattage do I actually need?
It depends on material and thickness more than shop size. Desktop 40W machines handle thin wood, acrylic, and leather well. Most small shops doing regular production are well served by 60W to 90W. Thicker material and higher-volume cutting call for 100W and up.

What is the difference between the desktop and industrial machines?
Desktop lasers like the Muse line are smaller-footprint, lower-wattage machines built for getting started. The Full Spectrum PS, AEON Nova, and Atlas machines are larger-bed, higher-wattage systems built for sustained production.

Can I finance a laser cutter?
Yes. Most Canadian small businesses qualify for equipment financing. See our equipment financing guide for how it works.

Do you offer training on these machines?
Yes, through our laser education packages, which cover operation and shop workflow for teams and programs bringing a CO2 laser on board.
