What We Do

We assemble and support small-format CNC routers built for daily production. They run in cabinet shops, sign shops, custom millwork operations, prototyping floors, classrooms, makerspaces, and home shops across North America. Alongside the hardware, we distribute COâ‚‚ lasers from manufacturer partners we trust and run EMPOWER[ED] ACADEMY for classroom programs.

Who We Serve

The shops we work with span North America. Cabinet makers running daily production. Sign shops scaling up. Custom millwork operations. Prototyping and design shops. Schools and makerspaces. Manufacturers adding CNC capability. Weekend makers running a desktop CNC in a home shop. The common thread is they want a machine that keeps running for years.

Our Team

Simply Technologies is led by Steve Stevenson and Jeremy Stevenson, the father-son team behind CNC Software Canada and ICONIC CNC. Between them they’ve spent more than two decades helping implement CNC technology in over 3,000 schools, makerspaces, and shops across North America.

Steve Stevenson — Co-Founder, Sales, Distribution and Product Development

Steve entered the CNC industry in 2005 as the founder of Gorilla CNC, which he launched alongside his neighbour Ron Baker in a residential garage in London, Ontario. The goal was straightforward: build approachable CNC technology for hobbyists, schools, and smaller shops that couldn’t justify the cost or complexity of large industrial equipment.

After the Gorilla CNC chapter ended, Steve joined General International and helped build the General CNC division from the ground up alongside his son Jeremy. During the same period, Steve and Jeremy launched CNC Software Canada in 2007, providing CNC software, training, and technical support to users and partner networks across North America.

Steve and Jeremy later co-founded ICONIC CNC, developing and manufacturing their own CNC product line while building dealer relationships, educational partnerships, and support systems across Canada and the United States. ICONIC CNC was later acquired by Axiom Tool Group, an experience that directly shapes how Simply Technologies approaches machine selection, customer support, educational integration, and long-term customer relationships today.

Over more than two decades, Steve has worked closely with schools, manufacturers, woodworkers, makerspaces, and small businesses across North America, helping introduce CNC technology into real-world educational and production environments.

Day-to-day, Steve oversees sales, machine selection, distributor development, supplier relationships, and long-term product refinement across Simply Technologies. He works closely with schools, makers, woodworkers, and growing businesses to help identify CNC solutions that fit their workflow and budget, while remaining actively involved in machine testing, technical troubleshooting, and product development.

Customers come to Steve for guidance on choosing the right machine for their workflow and long-term goals. He helps customers understand the practical differences between machine configurations, controller systems, spindle options, and production capabilities, and supports distributors and technology partners across North America.

Together with Jeremy, Steve helped implement CNC technology in over 3,000 schools, makerspaces, and shops across North America. He co-developed the ICONIC CNC product line and EMPOWER[ED] ACADEMY, a first-of-its-kind CAD/CAM/CNC onboarding and certification platform built to give schools long-term continuity in advanced manufacturing education.

What Steve cares about: helping schools, small businesses, and first-time CNC owners succeed long after the machine is delivered. He believes CNC technology gives students practical, career-ready skills while also giving woodworkers, makers, and entrepreneurs the foundation to build businesses around work they genuinely enjoy.

Jeremy Stevenson — Co-Founder, Marketing, Support and Operations

Jeremy entered the CNC industry in 2010 through Gorilla CNC and later General CNC, focused on website development, marketing, customer communication, and technical support. Alongside his father Steve, he helped launch CNC Software Canada in 2007, providing CNC software, training, and support to dealer and partner networks across North America.

Jeremy and Steve later co-founded ICONIC CNC, developing and manufacturing their own CNC product line while building dealer relationships, educational partnerships, and support systems across Canada and the United States. ICONIC CNC was later acquired by Axiom Tool Group, an experience that directly shapes how Simply Technologies approaches machine selection, customer support, educational integration, and long-term customer relationships today.

Unlike many people in woodworking, Jeremy did not come from a traditional hands-on manufacturing background. His path was through technology, systems, branding, communication, and digital workflows. Years of customer conversations, technical support, trade shows, education partnerships, and collaboration with overseas manufacturing teams gave him a clear view of how CNC technology actually lands in real businesses, schools, and makerspaces.

Day-to-day, Jeremy leads marketing, branding, customer communication, education initiatives, product positioning, dealer relationships, and long-term operational development across Simply Technologies. He’s the lead on documentation, onboarding systems, video, and curriculum work, all built around making CNC ownership feel approachable for first-time buyers, schools, and growing shops.

Customers come to Jeremy for setup and operation resources, onboarding guidance, training systems, troubleshooting support, and help simplifying the learning curve for new CNC users.

Together with Steve, Jeremy has helped implement CNC technology in over 3,000 schools, makerspaces, and shops across North America. He co-developed EMPOWER[ED] ACADEMY, a first-of-its-kind CAD/CAM/CNC onboarding and certification platform built to give schools long-term continuity in advanced manufacturing education.

What Jeremy cares about: helping students find real career opportunities through digital manufacturing and skilled trades, and helping woodworkers, makers, and small shop owners build sustainable businesses around work they care about.
